Year 4 News
Well, it's been an interesting week here in Year 4.
In English, we have begun to look at arguments and comparative writing. We've explored balanced arguments and comparatives, plus even had a few debates in class to get us hooked into the style of writing we will be focusing on in this unit.
In maths, we have continued to work on our fractions and decimals unit of work. In particular, we have been working with decimals. We found multiplying and dividing decimals by 10, 100 and a 1000 quite tricky, but in the end we cracked it!
This week was also our school trip to Nantwich Museum. We learnt all about life in Tudor Nantwich, tried on Tudor clothes, handled Tudor artifacts and even made Tudor medicine. We had such a great time!
It has been a week since we started out science experiment and we were busting to know what happened to the eggs. As we uncovered the experiment, we discovered quite a few things. First off, DON'T have a lot of vinegar! The egg that was left in this liquid lost its shell. The vinegar caused so much damage that the shell slid straight off when touched. You may be wondering what happened to the dark brown one, well, this was the damage caused by coke. The only liquid to have had no effect on the egg shell was water. Well, I guess we all know what we should be drinking more of!
In our RE lesson this week, we completed our Ketubah, we took the time to carefully complete the art work and add our own words, these are really beautiful- you will be wowed by them.
We even managed to fit in our field events for sports day. It may have taken a couple of attempts, but in the end, we squeezed it in. Next Wednesday, we are going to try again to have our sports day, let's hope the sun is out!
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.
