From taking our pulses to receiving new books, we have had it all going on in Y6 this week!

We are all percentaged (not really a word) out in Y6! We have finally completed our unit and we are feeling very proud of our efforts. Well done team.

Our descriptive writing is in full swing as we aim to create our eerie pieces. We have written our drafts and now we are editing for effect. Some children have even managed to include our favourite simile, "like lice from a beggar's beard."

During book club, our focus has been on revisiting a SAT style paper. We have considered our speed and interpretation of questions to help us to improve.

This week we continued with our Biology unit — the circulatory system. We have investigated pulses and what may change them. From sprints around the yard, to press-ups by the dozen, we have concluded that exercise a great workout for the strongest muscle in the body, our heart. We have also begun to create our team posters as we aim to present them to our class.

We continued with our RE question, finalising the top three things we feel make our perfect world, our family, charities and God. Discussion was a big part as children backed up their choices.

Our spelling focus has been the suffixes, ent, ence and ency. New homework has been set and will be reviewed next Friday.
