Our week in Year 4
Last week we learnt all about teeth and what our teeth are made out of; we learnt that enamel covers the outside of our teeth. As a result, this week, we have started a Science experiment to find out how drinks affect our tooth enamel. However, before starting our experiment we had to decide how to keep it a fair test and what the dependent and independent variables were. Furthermore, to do our 'egg'periment we couldn't use real teeth, so we've used boiled eggs. The boiled eggs have been put into coke, milk, water, vinegar, orange juice and black current squash. We will be observing what happens to the eggs and we will let you know next week!
We have also started our Holbein painting. We have learnt how to draw faces and how to draw things so they are in proportion.
In Literacy, we have finished our Police Investigation Reports. To make sure they were perfect, we had to check that we used past tense and third person; we also learnt how to use a semi-colon this week. Lastly, in numeracy we have been exploring our new Numicon resources by using the pieces to investigate number sequences.
